Login Banner and Message of the Day

Avi Vantage supports configuration of the following types of management greeting messages:

  • Message of the Day: Starting with release 17.1.3, Avi Vantage supports a greeting that appears to Avi Vantage users who log in via the Avi user interface (UI), SSH, or the CLI.
  • Login Banner: Message that appears before login through the web interface or CLI.

Here is an example of a Login Banner (at the bottom of login dialog) and a Message of the Day.

Configure Message of the Day and Login Banner

  1. Navigate to Administration > Access Settings.
  2. Click the edit icon to display the Update System Access Settings popup.

  3. Into the Message of the Day and Login Banner fields, enter the text messages to be displayed after login through the web interface, SSH, or CLI.

  4. Click Save.
  5. The changes done in the previous steps will reflect in the next login session. Logout from the Avi UI, and login again to see the changes, for example, a new Message of the Day presented by Avi UI.
